Firm Offers to pay for Bar Prep Course

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Mar 31, 2014 10:02 pm

Is this common in Chicago? If you accept the offer can you repay the firm in full and renege if a better offer makes itself available? I feel like that would be like taking acceptance of employment a bit further than acceptable to renege. Thoughts?

Pretty much all large firms do this. Your offer letter should say what happens if you end up not accepting (or leaving the firm before a specified amount of time): you will have to pay it back.
