I am an unemployed 3L with excellent grades at a T2 school. I recently secured an interview for a JD preferred position that is non-legal. I recognize that I may face the question "why this instead of law?" Truth is I would much rather law so I am having a tough time coming up with a plausible answer...
Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's tough to tell you what to say without knowing what the position is. JD preferred can mean all kinds of things.
