Do some firms hire 3Ls as law clerks during the summer?

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Mar 20, 2014 1:07 pm

I guess now that i think about, there's nothing that bars graduates from working part/full-time while studying for the bar, it's just that people rarely ever seem to do it. But is this even a general firm practice that anyone's heard of? Is it even worth trying to take advantage of such an opportunity at a firm that I would probably give at least a finger to work at, all at the risk of possibly not passing the bar? The opportunity says it's part-time over summer, maybe 10 hours give or take.

In addition, would it be out of line for me to ask at this interview if this could lead to permanent employment after becoming barred?
