2L Summer State Court Externship

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Mar 18, 2014 12:19 pm

Should I accept a 2L summer state trial court externship? It's the only job offer I have in the market I want to work in, and would give me a chance to network, but I've also heard that the lack of prestige associated with the job will hurt. I realize that 3L campus recruiting is more or less unproductive, so I think I may have to rely on other means to get my name on the list of considered applicants.

The other offer I may have (they said they will get back to me tomorrow) is with a federal court in a different state. I understand federal court externships are more prestigious, but I have no intention to stay in that state.
