1L summer internship choice

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Mar 15, 2014 9:54 pm

Attending G-town, have a summer offer with a small personal injury firm in the state where I want to practice after graduating. It wouldn't pay much, but it would pay, and I'd be living with my gf for the two months.

Other option - federal PD in same state; unpaid, but could get a few K from G-town; would have to weekend commute to see gf.

As far as career goals, not sure. Seems like the PD would be a more interesting experience, and if biglaw is no option, might it make sense to take it over the small firm as part of a resume-shaping effort? On the other hand, being in DC makes it easier to do Gov / PI stuff during the school year 2L/3L.
