HELP! Tax Consulting v Compliance

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Mar 14, 2014 12:56 pm

So summer is rolling around and I need to decide between two offers. They are in completely dif areas and I know what I do this summer will have major implications on my career.

Neither is strictly legal (which im fine with)
A- Tax Consulting --> Likely leads to FT position yr from now (as long as I dont blow it this summer)
B- Corp. Compliance --> Publically traded midcap company where I would essentially be working with GC as the sole Compliance guy making a new global program (have a little experience doing this). There is no longterm with this company as we speak, but a chance. Great for resume though.

Any thoughts? Most interested in hearing about ppl's thoughts on both careers, factoring in salary/work-life balance/future

How great of a career is Compliance or Financial Regulation (would like to go that route if going the compliance route)?
...... Tax Consultant?
