Will *real* people notice AE Park Aves + Business Casual?
Bought black Park Avenues for OCI per the TLS Mens Fashion Mega Thread. Now incoming NYC summer at a Vault business casual firm that seems like it's more on the formal end of business casual. Think wool pants, button up shirt, and a blazer. But I'm currently broke. Options are (1) wear AEs with biz casual attire; (2) rock existing Steve Madden loafers (lol) http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/stev ... ?ID=383764; (3) put AE DelRays on a CC (refuse to wear shoes with broguing out of preference). Please advise. I don't want guys like Pufer snickering at me behind my back.

Guys like Pufer are idiots.
Just wear something that fits the mold. It doesn't have to be top of the line, but you don't want to stand out in a bad way. As long as your shoes look like standard oxfords, aren't scuffed up, and are well polished, you'll be fine.

There's nothing wrong with wearing Park Aves with business casual. Nobody, no matter how discerning, will have a problem with that. They're not magic shoes that can only be worn with full suits.

"Guys like Pufer" would not say anything about Park Avenues with wool slacks and a blazer. and park avenues are quite literally "standard Oxfords". what the fuck are you talking about?Biglaw_Associate_V20 wrote:Guys like Pufer are idiots.

I was making two points. 1) Oxfords are fine to wear with business casual (my last sentence above), and 2) you don't need to buy a new pair of AEs to look okay in biz casual. There are many acceptable brands of shoes for the type of biz casual OP is talking about.patogordo wrote:"Guys like Pufer" would not say anything about Park Avenues with wool slacks and a blazer. and park avenues are quite literally "standard Oxfords". what the fuck are you talking about?Biglaw_Associate_V20 wrote:Guys like Pufer are idiots.

Also, I just think Pufer is an idiot for unrelated reasons.

So you are at a school that costs 50k+ a year, you will be paid for the summer 30k+, and your excuse for not getting clothes you are confident and comfortable on is that you are broke??
