Top 25%, lower T1, clerked / interned in a couple firms, secondary journal board position. I have an offer from the firm I clerked at over 2L summer, but I want a federal agency gig. Is it realistic? I'm applying to like all of them that have postings up for 1 year of experience of less.
If its realistic, has anyone ever done it before? Like work for the DoD, DoT, or military as a civilian attorney?

Take the offer. These agency jobs are tricky to get and there aren't usually very many slots. Apply and see where things go, but take the offer and don't hold your breath for any agencies.

You might get a position, but it's not worth gambling the offer you have. Take the offer but keep applying and renege if you get an agency job. You will probably have a better shot at lateraling to a federal position after a few years at a firm, anyway.
