Good afternoon, TLS! It has been a while since I have set sail on your often pernicious waters of truth and justice. I have seen a lot of threads regarding the ADA interview process, but less information on the experiences of students that have interned at a DA's office or of the experiences of the ADAs themselves. I would love to hear what people that have been involved with the DA thought of the work environment. Of course this probably varies a lot by locale, but it would be valuable information just the same.
Which office did you work or intern for? Don't feel obligated to specify.
Was the workplace generally friendly? Competitive/cooperative? High energy or weary?
How was the caseload?
How many hours a week did you find yourself putting in?
How much control do the ADAs have over the cases? Was it fairly autonomous, or was there a decent amount of micromanagement? Is there a lot of pressure to push for maximum sentencing wherever possible?
Did you LIKE it?!
If you decide to share, thanks!
