So I have been on the job hunt quite heavily over the last few months to try and lock down work this summer. No 1L SA (no surprise there), but thus far the only offer I have is a legal clinic ~20 hours/week doing research/drafting some docs unpaid.
My question: the general consensus is that "anything legal" is OK for 1L summer, but I'm concerned that this is going to look bad on my resume heading into 2L. I'm definitely looking to find something in addition to this position given that it is part time, but worse case scenario if I don't and maybe just take some classes, is this really sufficient? I feel like I will be doing jack over the summer.
Thanks!

Can you be a research assistant for a professor since you'll be on campus. It honestly doesn't matter what you do as long as it's legal but a gap or just half a summer might be weird on your résumé. If it's the full summer long, nobody will ask or know it was 20hr/week though.Anonymous User wrote:So I have been on the job hunt quite heavily over the last few months to try and lock down work this summer.
