I also applied and have not heard of any movement, nor have I heard of anyone else hearing back.

Time to revive the thread. Got an e-mail this week asking if I was still interested in the position.

Same email here. Think it is to all applicants?

Also, anyone know what this pays and if there is any potential to lateral to a corporate department after this?

Not really, at least directly. More likely path is Compliance -> Regulator (SEC, CFPB, etc) -> then firm.

Source: completely anecdotal.

One month after the application was due they are inviting everyone to an informational interview? Clearly they are not in a rush.

I know last year, a classmate found out about his acceptance a few days before graduation, so it sounds like they draw out the process.

If you google, "citi compliance associate program salary" a number comes up. I am not sure how accurate that is.

I have never been invited to an "informational interview". What is that? Is it one-on-one or like a networking reception.

Well gee golly, I hadn't thought of using that newfangled thing.

Did that, varying sources said from 50k to 102k. I was hoping to hear from someone with more info.

First, the sarcasm was unnecessary. Second, during my search, I did not see significant variation.

I got an email to my spam saying someone would contact me to set up a phone interview. Does anyone have an actual interview set up? If so, did you follow up to that email?

I also got an email referencing a phone interview. I guess I will confirm that I have received it. Honestly, I am not too optimistic about this position. It seems like tons of people applied and they are setting up phone interviews with a good chunk of the applicants. I also don't what sort of exit options a compliance associate would have.

Ok, I am going to go ahead and be a bit of a dick. "I dont know what my exit options will be from being a compliance associate." Really????? This job probably pays around 100k and people who start off with citi move up the corporate food chain at a decent clip. To the point where, if you are competent, after 5 years you will make around 130k in a fairly steady job. If you want to move, you can go to a hedgefund in compliance still pulling down 6 figures. This is a dream opportunity considering most people who applied for this are unemployed 3Ls with graduation looming, or recent grads unemployed for a year. This would be a lifeline for anyone who landed it. The alternative is in a small law firm busting ass around the clock for a few years for a lot less money. Maybe I am a bit optimistic, but this seems to be one of the better options posted for unemployed 3Ls and recent grads.

"If you want to move, you can go to a hedgefund in compliance". Sure! However, some people went to law school because they want to practice law. You certainly don't need to be barred to work in compliance.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
