How do people get research positions with a professor?

Post by lawhopeful10 » Tue Feb 25, 2014 9:30 am

It seems likely I won't get a 1L SA and if I'm not going to make any money this summer I at least don't want to spend any. I don't have anything lined up yet and thought it would be convenient if I could just work with a professor. I was wondering if professors who need someone usually post about it or if it is appropriate to ask a professor who's class you did well in if they needed any help over the summer. Any information here would be great. Thanks in advance.

at my school professors post on symplicity however i'm sure that not all do - if you have an interest in something or a connection with a prof, i think its fine to go ask them if theyre doing any research this summer and if they might need a research assistant.
