I will need some cash for the summer following graduation -- to live on and to get an apartment with once I start working in the fall (in my future market, you typically need a certified check for the first and last month's rent, along with a security deposit, to get one). I emailed my future employer, and they said that they do not offer a salary advance.
Does anyone have recommendations as to where I can get some money? Are there short-term lenders that law students typically use for this situation?

Consider sharing an apt. for your first year. If you take temporary legal employment for a few months, clear it with your future employer to avoid client conflicts.

Are you taking the bar exam? There are quite a few lenders that offer "bar loans" of up to $10,000 to cover your living expenses while you study.

I am, and my employer is covering the bar exam course. I will look into getting a "bar loan" for living expenses. Thanks!lethe405 wrote:Are you taking the bar exam? There are quite a few lenders that offer "bar loans" of up to $10,000 to cover your living expenses while you study.
