1l summer bird in hand, empty bush

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Feb 21, 2014 6:04 pm

Mid t1, shit grades. Low $ commitment, might as well finish the year before decide to drop out. Probably won't because snowflake
Offered summer at govt agency in practice field not so relevant to interests but not anti either. No other response to applications.
I'd be crazy not to take it, right?

PS no luck searching, also curious what I'm looking at options wise here, like if my grades don't come up but I do good in an agency is there a career in this?

Most options that pay well are off the table and consensus is that most govt/PI gigs are seen equally to subsequent employers so you should take it. Big law is going to be a no go for you, but you surely realize this by now, so if you are going to finish start thinking about ways to build your resume for non-big law gigs. This probably qualifies fine.

Coming into 1l, big law sounded cool, models n bottles etc. but after a semester with the people gunning for it I think I would be miserable there anyway. I can handle about ten minutes of a networking event before I feel like Tyler Durden in spanx.

Guess I'll look into realistic options in govt, see if there's any way to make that work
Thanks for helpful reply
