How to contact private firms?
I'm a 2L with no firm experience and looking to intern for a firm (unpaid) for the summer. How do I go about doing that? Is it appropriate for me to just call and ask the attorney directly? E-mail? I think e-mail is lazy and would prefer to call, but just want to be sure I'm doing the "right" thing.

Email is the norm, calling might be seen as too aggressive but it also might get you in where your email wouldn't, no way to know.
It's illegal for firms to not pay you by the way.
