Thanking interviewers via email after interview?

Is it appropriate to thank an interviewer view email after the interview for a law firm SA if you hadn't had any contact with them before the interview (meaning that you have to look them up on their company's website to get their email address)? I know it is proper interview etiquette to thank your interviewer in the business world, but what about initial screeners for SA positions?
