Missing Class
What is the consensus on missing substantial class (week's worth plus) for callbacks?
My situation might be a little different than others. I go to a TT (might as well be TTTT) where grades will always matter - I don't have my school's name or ranking to fall back on, and I am top 4%. Many of the people I interview with imply I need to graduate summa. It also takes me an insanely long period of time to read and prepare for class because, well, I'm a TT student.
Is it easier to recover since it is earlier in the semester? Any 3Ls who have experienced this mind sharing how they overcame missing class and if they maintained grades?

Re: Missing Class
Er, if you don't have an offer yet DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT CANCELING A CALLBACK TO GO TO CLASS.
That would be bonkers.

What callbacks are you going on that stipulate you need to graduate summa?

Re: Missing Class
Every single one of my profs has specifically said "I assume most of you will have to miss class for callbacks, and that's fine."

Re: Missing Class
As a partner at a Fancy Law Firm told me: you came to law school to get a job, not attend classes at the beginning of your 2L year.
Class is even more optional when job hunting than it is when you're not (when it is already pretty optional).

Re: Missing Class
Inform the professors that you'll miss class. Tell them why.
Then, you'll go to your callbacks and miss class and you won't think about it again.
