Linklaters CB
Having CB at links soon. I heard that Linklaters interview comprises of two parts 1) HR behavioral questions 2) interviews with associations and partners, which involves a scenario question. Has anyone gone to their CB recently? I would really appreciate it if you could share your experiences and views.

Re: Linklaters CB
I interviewed there a couple years ago. The scenario interview was a complete joke. The partner asked what I would do if I were assigned to due diligence at another firm's office and I had no idea what I was looking for. The right answer was ask questions: ask the partner who assigned me...ask the senior associate...ask somebody at the firm (not a hostile deal)...etc..
That lasted about 2 minutes and then we just chatted for about 20 minutes.
The hardest part of the interview was the HR part. She basically just asked all of the "standard" interview questions (the kind you never actually get asked in most law firm interviews but probably have memorized answers for). There was very little chance for conversation, just a 20 minute interrogation.
Disclaimer: I did not get the offer (I am at a V5 firm in NY now but would still go to Linklaters in a heartbeat)

If you don't mind, may I ask why you "would still go to Linklaters in a heartbeat"? Is it because of its international platform?

Re: Linklaters CB
Yes. My long term goals are in a market where Linklaters is much stronger than V5 firms and I would love to be there for the long term. I can lateral there easily from the firm I'm at now, but I would rather have just started where I want to end up. There are not many firms better than Linklaters when you leave the (massive) US market.Anonymous User wrote:Thank you so much for sharing! I really appreciate it.

I interviewed last Wednesday, haven't heard anything. Can I safely assume I've been dinged? Also, does anybody know if they ding in the mail?

Re: Linklaters CB
Had a CB this past week.
Based on this thread, turnaround seems to be one week?
Ah, I'm getting nervous.
The scenario stuff was pretty easy though and I felt like I connected well with the interviewers. We'll see...

Had CB last Monday (16th). I have heard nothing so far.
Have I been dinged? Do they call for offers? Snail mail offers? Email dings?

Firstly, congratulations!Anonymous User wrote:CB early last week. offer this Monday by phone.
Would it be wise for me to follow up with them?
Does the silence mean that a rejection is likely forthcoming? Or that I'm in a "maybe" pile? Or could it be something more innocuous; like an evaluation submitted later...

Re: Linklaters CB
For people who have received offer after CB, was it just a phone call or have you received an offer email or an offer letter in the mail?
Thanks!

Re: Linklaters CB
Callback last friday, also call on Monday with offer, e-mail followed an hour or two later. Appears that they got very busy on Monday.
Good luck to those who haven't heard.
I am very likely to accept so am obviously pretty excited about it.
