Cravath or Covington?
Trying to decide between Covington in DC or Cravath for 2014 Summer Associate Position. I am interested in corporate/regulatory/transactional work. Not interested in litigation and in the long term I see myself either going in house or going into academia if the opportunity is there.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience with these firms? I am so torn on which to choose!

Do Cravath if you want corporate and Covington if you want regulatory. Or decide based on city.

Okay - sorry I was not more specific. I am mostly interested in health care regulatory work or corporate work with health care industry. Obviously I don't know exactly what I will like best given that I do not have actual experience at a firm yet in this area.Danger Zone wrote:aka I don't know what I want to do but zomg not brief writing plsAnonymous User wrote:u wot m8?HLBE689 wrote: interested in corporate/regulatory/transactional work.

Almost positive you will have no way of specializing in "health care industry" corporate work at Cravath. In fact, there is probably only a very small possibility that you would even be staffed on a healthcare merger or healthcare related IPO within your first few years.Tiago Splitter wrote:Sounds like Covington.HLBE689 wrote: Okay - sorry I was not more specific. If you're serious about wanting to focus more on the industry than the kind of work, you should take Covington.
