Davis Polk Split Summer Question

Does anyone know DPW's policy on splitting summers between different offices? I just received an offer for the NY office, but i'm also interested in the Menlo Park office. I've heard that they will let you split your summer between the two offices, but does anyone know whether this means you can get a post summer permanent offer to start at either office or will you be limited to the NY office? Thanks!

2013 DPW SA here. You can absolutely split between NY and Menlo. Just let them know you want to.

The split is relatively easy to get (8 wks ny, 4 mp). Express interest prior to accepting your offer to raise your chances. The permanent offer is a possibility, but not automatic. Offers go to mp-only summers first, and rotators only if there is space. Some years none of the rotators want mp offers, some years they all do; odds of successful transfer vary accordingly.

May I ask which school you go to?
