Partner said he'd pass my resume along, do I still apply? Forum

I spoke with a partner a few weeks ago at an NYC firm. The conversation went well and the partner asked about my grades and the offered to pass my resume along. The firm does not attend my schools OCI. Should I still apply directly to the firm or is the resume enough?

Resume is probably enough, but I don't think it would hurt to apply.

Can't hurt at all, and might help if partner just didn't follow through.

Or send in your résumé, mention the partner, and CC the partner
