Lateraling and grades
I recently had an interview at a law firm. I transferred after my 1L year, and my grades were average with a couple of not so good grades. But my grades in my 2L and 3L years were really good and I graduated near the top of my class. Any thoughts what to include in the email to the firm, justifying my first year grades?

Re: Lateral into BigLaw
Would need to know more about your situation in order to suggest e-mail comment regarding your 1L grades. Keep in mind that 2L & 3L grades usually are done on a much more gentle curve than 1L grades, so they should be higher.
Out of curiosity: Did you transfer to a higher ranked law school ? Do your reasons for transferring explain your first year performance ?

Re: Lateraling and grades
I did transfer to a higher ranked school. My grades were around top quarter of the class, even with those couple of grades
