I've heard NYC firms move quickly as far as extending callbacks, but can anyone provide a little more specific time frame for what is typical for NYC firms to extend callbacks after a screener? Are we talking next day, within 2-3 days, a week, etc.? Thanks.

All of the above. I think average is 1-2 days.

All of mine were within 24 hours (I'd schedule right away if it's your top choice market, obvs)

I've done some screener interviews already with NYC firms and all of them said it would take some time to hear a response due to how early we are.

I've also heard from other firms to schedule screener but want me to call them August 1 to arrange. So my experience is that things are not moving quickly yet but I'd be interested to hear otherwise.

It varies by firm, but 1-2 days is most common. If a firm doesn't find enough suitable candidates, they may have additional rounds later too.

Everyone else is right, and I'll note I also got 2 at the end of the screener. They move quickly.

Most within 24 hours. A few later. Some hilariously later (4 weeks).
