Equal Justice Works Conference & Career Fair 2013
I know it's a bit early in the game, but anyone plan on attending? I'm stoked.

Is it me or most of the posts are for 2Ls?

Yeah, but not all of the employers have posted yet. Just looked at the EJW CCF page, and it said that employers have until 9/5 to post positions.target wrote:Is it me or most of the posts are for 2Ls?

Btw, anyone else psyched out by the sea of EJW strike-outs from last year on the Prosecution/PD Gunner thread?

Are you considering applying for the EJW fellowship too? Or just attending the conference?

Re: Equal Justice Works Conference & Career Fair 2013
I plan to apply to the EJW fellowship as a rising 3L.
Since I'm right now a rising 2L, I'm attending the fair to "table talk" and interview for 2L summer internships (provided that I don't get dinged by every place I apply to, lol)

Are "table talks" like mini informal interviews? Should I give a copy of my resume to employers I table talk with?

You should look at table talk as your opportunity to convince the employer that they made a mistake not selecting you for the interview, and that you are in fact the person they should hire for their open position. Absolutely give them a resume and also a targeted cover letter.BlueLotus wrote:Are "table talks" like mini informal interviews? Should I give a copy of my resume to employers I table talk with?

So it would be worth the cost to go even if I got no interviews at all? Do you have personal experience of getting a position thru table talk alone?

I am participating in OCI, but I am considering doing this job fair as well provided that I have enough money for travelling/hotel!

Hey, so in the activity tab, I see some places say "Accepted students sign up open" but my preselect status still says "requested."
Does that mean I probably got dinged from the place since I dont have any notification email?

Employers just started reviewing apps today and have until Oct. 3 to make interview selections. Don't freak out yet.Anonymous User wrote:Hey, so in the activity tab, I see some places say "Accepted students sign up open" but my preselect status still says "requested."

Do we get an email if selected for an interview, or do we have to obsessively check the application portal thing?

I do think we are supposed to get an email though if selected. But it's either obsessively check my email, or obsessively check EJW. Six of one, half-dozen of the other ...

ejw can be so brutal..a couple of my 3L friends who went last year told me about the competition. .one of them applied for 8, received 4 interviews and got 1 offer..
I did 7 apps, all pd work..I'm trying not to second guess myself by saying I should have applied to more

yeah, judging by the "prosecution/pd gunner" thread from last year, it was a veritable bloodbath.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
