Long-time TLS user here. Background: I am a K-JD, URM between 18-20% of my class, t25-30 school, and I received spring Dean's award for legal writing. I am an above-average/ excellent interviewer (lottery 1L OCI slots turned into callbacks). 1L SA. I am really interested in practicing in DC, but I understand how competitive the market is. I am also vaguely aware that NYC is a little less difficult to break into. I have no significant ties to either place.
I have three questions. For v100 NYC/DC firms: (1) are they attainable with my law school background, (2) if yes, (2) which firms would you suggest targeting?
