Of all the firms I interviewed with, I think just one single firm asked for undergrad grades. I wouldn't worry.

I don't recall which one it was. May very well have been Cravath. It was one of those top tier ones that I had little chance at to begin with.Anonymous User wrote:which one? is it cravath as mentioned above?Anonymous User wrote:Of all the firms I interviewed with, I think just one single firm asked for undergrad grades. Yes, Cravath is the only big NYC firm that I know of that asks for undergraduate transcripts. Hell, I think you could even leave your undergrad GPA off your resume, especially if you aren't K-JD.

Cravath is the only firm I've heard of doing this. Even if you are K-JD, I don't think it's standard to put your undergrad GPA on your resume. I certainly didn't.aces wrote:Yes, Cravath is the only big NYC firm that I know of that asks for undergraduate transcripts. I'm at a V10, they don't care, I didn't even put my UG GPA in my resume.
Don't know about Cravath.

I wouldn't worry much about it even at Cravath (incoming associate). I was pretty mediocre in UG and no one mentioned it or seemed to care at all. There are associates from perfectly mediocre UG schools. I wouldn't sweat it unless you went to a truly terrible school or got absolutely abysmal grades.

Yes, leave it off. If it's something really good it'll be reflected because you should put awards like Summa/Magna/etc. If you can't do that, no need to draw attention to a shitty UGrad GPA since almost all firms won't care, and those that do will ask for it if they want it.aces wrote:Yes, Cravath is the only big NYC firm that I know of that asks for undergraduate transcripts. OP here,
thanks for the helpful replies. I guess I'll apply to Cravath anyway, even though it's a long shot to begin with. I had heard that they cared about UG grades and that's what caused me to create this thread.
