I'm without a job right now as a 3l about to graduate and I am wondering whether it might be helpful to apply for 2014 clerkships. I'm interested in a career in transactional work in a career long term. I'm not sure what I would do during the interim year--maybe fall back to doc review or something, but definitely keep my eyes open for anything better. Does it make sense to try to find a position with a state supreme court judge or federal judge for 2014-2015? Would it be weird to firms to have someone do a clerkship one year out of law school while professing an interest in transactional work?
