Summer Living Stipend
Wife will be starting at V20 in NYC in October. She emailed the recruiter this question but hasn't received a response yet. She is supposed to get a check for living expenses (salary advance) and for relocation expenses (doesn't have to be paid back) in the spring is all they said. Any ideas for when these checks normally arrive?

One common approach is 3 months before your start date, but it varies. I know some people who got giant checks in like March.

My firm gave us 1/3 in March and we get the other 2/3 once they receive our final transcript. Hope that helps somewhat.

I got my salary advance some time in the summer. I had to apply for reimbursement for relocation expenses after I started.
