Still waiting. Where do you see the first closing day was the 28th? USAJobs lists the last day as April 19.

It was in the announcement..."NOTE: This announcement is open from March 21, 2013 to April 19, 2013 which will be used to fill multiple positions in various locations. We will accept applications for this announcement on an ongoing basis during the opening period or until the positions are filled. The first cut-off for review is March 28, 2013. Applications will be reviewed every week or on an “as needed” basis after that."Intraining wrote:Still waiting. Where do you see the first closing day was the 28th? I took that to mean that to be considered with the first wave, you had to get your apps in by that date. I wish they'd hurry up...I have another job lined up, but they know I'm applying for these positions (in fact they encouraged it) and I'd like to give them as much notice as possible so they can get someone else.
I'd like to think I'm competitive for these positions (pretty decent grades at a t20, extremely relevant work experience), but I have no clue as to how competitive it's supposed to be (especially this late in the game).

Ahh, I see it now. There are just multiple HHS internship roles. The other didn't have the note.
I'm in the same boat, decent job in hand but would jump for DC in a heartbeat if this came through.

Silence on my end as well--application status on USA Jobs has said "Not Available" for over a week. I'm median at a t-20 with a relevant master's degree. I selected the Atlanta Region (CDC).

Dinged today. Top 10% 1L at tier 1 with relevant experience. (Got two emails; one referencing the Grade 07/09 and saying I was qualified but not selected; the other only referenced the Grade 09 position and stating I was not qualified).

Remember that vet preferance now applies to most of these internships. So if 100 vets from Cooley law apply they must be looked at and considered before the top 10% non-vet from Harvard.

My status is still on application received. Betting they never even got/or get around to reading mine.

Isn't it a little late to fill those slots, considering the high bar that was set by the application period? Granted, this may be sour grapes on my part, but judging by the bar they set, I've got to think that most of the candidates qualified to be sent through have already gotten better jobs.Anonymous User wrote:Where did you guys apply? Also, usajobs.gov...stop sending me emails. I got the hint after the 15th one.

I applied to Atlanta but this radio silence is killing me. Mine still says application received? I thought they were going to review applications each week?Anonymous User wrote:Where did you guys apply? I currently work there, I know for a fact several spots have not been filled yet.

You're not missing out on much anyways, it's a pretty retarded internship to do and is only worth it if you're paid or offered a permanent job after (very rare).

16th and 17th emails were the charm...I've been "certified to the selecting official for consideration" at one of the regional offices and will be contacted if an interview is needed.
Of course, I've already been working for 2 weeks, so I'd burn some massive bridges to take the job if offered. Le sigh.

I'm impressed you counted the emails. Might be more in the spam folder.Anonymous User wrote:16th and 17th emails were the charm...I've been "certified to the selecting official for consideration" at one of the regional offices and will be contacted if an interview is needed.
