Boston Consulting ADC Bridge Program

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Mar 21, 2013 12:22 pm

I'm going to an info session on the Bridge to BCG program tonight (http://www.bcg.com/careers/adc.aspx) but I want to see what people know about it. Do you people who have gotten in? Is it competitive? Does it provide a meaningful boost when you apply for full-time?

If it matters, I'm a 2L at a T6, struck out at OCI. No business background but have taken/am taking courses at the B-School. I know people in consulting and think it could be an interesting path, even if it forecloses future legal opportunities.

Going to the same one. T-14 student who also struck out. I think BCG is more competitive for 2L positions that McKinsey. Made it through two rounds at McK but did not get offer. Best of luck to us. Which city are you going to btw?

It definitely provides an inside track on hiring/recruiting, as BCG hires heavily from the Bridge program and then fills the remaining spots afterwards (assuming they follow last year's pattern). The problem for most JDs is that it is in July, when most are working/interning. They screen for admission to the program, but I'm not sure how selective it is.

Thoughts? Think JDs are at a disadvantage? The recruiter told me we're not but that's definitely a program geared towards science phDs. Still going to go for it. Sounds a lot more interesting than doing doc review for three years.

I know the app deadline was only a few days ago but did anyone hear anything? I think they said their interviewing time frame was now through late May.

You go to one of the events? Any sense that law students are treated differently than science phDs/MDs?

Interviewed at McK and attended BCG events, no difference in treatment in my humble opinion. Any doubts they might have about your abilities is tested via their much tougher + technical interview programs (tougher in comparison to biglaw). MBA, JD, PhD, MD seem to be treated similarly, with MBAs having overall an easier time at recruiting because the business school --- consulting pipeline has been around for a while.

Thanks. I wanted to confirm it because from my knowledge I was the only student from my school who went. The case interviews sound brutal but the Bridge program at least gives you practice and a sense of what they want.

The recruiting person was legitimately good. Though after dealing with recruiting people during OCI and massmailling that's a pretty low bar.

Regarding Bridge to BCG, has anybody gotten a response after the phone interviews or know when phone interview finalists might hear something? I had my interview last Friday for Bridge in Boston and hope to hear something this week.

I asked my interviewer for an update, and recruiting told him I'd hear back by sometime today, but nothing yet. Anyone else?

I'm the Anonymous user (Joined: Tue Aug 11, 2009 9:32 am) a few replies above.

I got selected for B2BCG in Boston. Got the email an hour ago. Good luck to those still hoping to hear.
