Have to pick one of these summer judicial internships by tomorrow. I'm a 1L at a T10 with median grades and hope to get a job with a DC law firm my 2L summer.
I know that the federal judge option is better so mostly I'm asking whether it'd be better to do a full summer with the federal judge or to ask for a split.

Not even close. Federal district court beats state trial level (even ones in Manhattan). State supreme court (court of appeals in NY's case) would be closer, but would still probably go federal.
