Then why even ask our opinion if you're just going to disregard it anyway?

My understanding is that the most prestigious V10 firms pretty much insist on using nothing but comic sans from the word go, but this is a very recent change. Previously Papyrus was the font of choice for all large national law firms. Since this is an ongoing transition, probably your safest bet is to switch from comic sans to Papyrus and back on a line-by-line basis.

I doubt anyone would much care about arial or courier. The point is you just don't want a font that's going to get noticed, anything plain is fine.

I don't know, guys....Elle Woods got a job at a big firm because she had scented resume paper, so sometimes the little details really make you stand out

The font doesn't matter as nearly much as the color of the paper used. Best bet is to go with scented pink paper.

I use Garamond because I think it's more narrow than most fonts, yet still relatively easy to read. Good for when you have too much info to cram into one page.

Yup, this is exactly why I use it.

Bookman Antiqua is very professional and legible. It's what a lot of my lawyer friends swear by.

calibri or garamond. The sans serif/serif distinction is overblown

I'm partial to lucida sans, but I don't have a job yet, so I don't listen too hard yet.
Although, to quote a prosecutor I know: "I don't give a damn what font you put it in. If you can spell and look reasonably interesting, I'll read it."

The only reason people get uptight about fonts is when you're submitting a long brief to a court and they have to read a lot. It's easier on the eyes.
No one cares on your resume as long as it doesn't stand out.
