Chances for a 1L summer judicial internship
Didn't do so well first semester, mostly my fault for procrastinating/slacking off.
Crim = C-
Contracts = C+
Civil Procedure = B
Legal Writing and Research = A
Is it too late/Are my grades too bad to apply for a judicial internship this summer?

+1. Although if you REALLY want a fed. judicial internship, I'd suggest you gather all the phone numbers of every fed. judge you want to work for and cold call. Sat down for about 8 hours calling every fed judge in my district in April and snagged a magistrate judge. Also got an offer for the Fall from a district judge (seemed to have appreciated the hustle I think) but had to refuse cause I already had something lined up.stillwater wrote:its probably too late from a timeline standpoint for federal judges. so youll probably be limited to state judges. some may ask for grades, some may not.

My school only gives out quintile rankings for the first semester. I'm in the top 80%.

I live in a very small state and go to the only law school in that state, T2. Most of the students were born and raised in that state and intend to stay there after law school.

So should I call judges up and ask if they are still accepting applications or should I just send out my resume and cover letter and hope that they don't ask for grades?
