hello, i am a 1L looking for summer job

1) for writing sample, do we just give employers the one that we turned in? or should we edit?

2) can it be the mid semester paper, or is it better to be final memo?

I asked my lw prof which one she thought I should use, we have done 2 so far, she said it depended on the topic and job. For positions that are likely to deal with statutory law ie ag da I used the one based on a statutory issue and for firms that dealt with torts etc I used one dealing with a common law issue. Most places requiring a sample tell you how long they want it, but I think career services said if they don't tell you you should edit it down to no more than 7 pgs

I just used the major assignment in my LRW class. I found a citation error when looking over it that I corrected, but otherwise I kept it. But I would have edited it more if it received a lower grade (if you know your grade for it).
