Probably fine but you might as well take the 5 seconds to convert it to PDF. That ensures the formatting will be preserved and metadata wiped.

If you have a Mac, you can do it from the File menu. There are shareware Windows apps that will do it, too. I used to use this one – http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/writer.asp – but that was probably like 7-8 years ago, there might be better ones now.

I use PrimoPDF. The formatting thing is a big reason - there are weird situations where you resume might come out to two pages instead of one on a different version of word.

Dont all versions of word just allow you to save as pdf? You don't need any other program

TCR. Always send pdfs unless they request something else.

Doesn't symplicity convert .doc to .pdf when you upload it.

Simplicity converts to PDF when you upload, but it also resets the fonts and screws with formatting, so it's best to just upload the PDF yourself. Use PrimoPDF or Word's save feature or just go into your school's computer lab.

You can download a free word extension from M$ that allows you to save as a pdf.
