Clerkship Judge Email
How do I find out the email for a district court judge? Trying to send an application for a clerkship.

Have you called chambers to make sure that is how they want the application?

And they didn't tell you the email address to send it to? Interesting.

I believe e-mail addresses are uniform across the board for all US Courts employees, including judges: <first name>_<last name>@<state abbreviation><district abbreviation>.uscourts.gov

Re: Clerkship Judge Email
(1) My experience is:
For cicuits:
Judge_[last name]@ca[circuit number].uscourts.gov
so Judge_Williams@ca2.uscourts.gov would be a ficticious Judge Williams on the 2d Circuit.
For disctirct courts:
[first name]_[last name]@[state abreviation]d.uscourts.gov
so Mike_Williams@ord.uscourts.gov would be a judge on the district of Oregon.
I imagine if you're talking about a district court in a state with miltiple districts, that would change (e.g. SDNY, EDLA). I don't know how those work, but it's probably the same as their website (http://www.nysd.uscourts.gov/ is SDNY, so it's probably First_Last@nysd.uscourts.gov)
(2) It sounds like what he wants you to do is to find him on oscar and send him your application on oscar. I'd do that. If you can't find him on oscar, call his secretary and ask if he's on there and if not how he takes applications.

And again, in my district, our e-mail formats are different. So look on Oscar or ask your CSO (they should have access to the Yellow Book, which might have this info?).

I often find the best recipe for success is to ignore what judges say to do and do it a completely different way.

Call chambers, talk to his secretary, explain situation, ask for an e-mail.
