How does lateral recruiting work? Transactional associate

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Oct 28, 2012 2:39 pm

Hey guys. I have been with my current firm for just over a year. I am doing transactional work M+A work in a secondary market. The firm is a lower tier NLJ250 firm.

While I love the people that I work with, my SO is from the West Coast and would like to move back and eventually get married. Due to her in demand career, it is really easy for her to get a job in any US market.

What kind of things should I be doing to position myself for a lateral move?

What is the best time to lateral? 2nd year? 3rd year? 4th year?

Thanks,
