how the hell do i go about it?
i havent done any mass mailings--when do i do this? can i do it during break or is it better to wait for spring? where do i look for jobs? I feel so lost.
for reference: roughly top 34% at t2 in nyc, no journal

Go to any and all networking events. Go on to martindale.com to find lists of smaller firms in or around NYC--email partners or recruiting contacts there and try to set up informational lunches/interviews, during which you can try to skillfully mention the fact that you are looking for work in their field.
