I am interested in landing an in house summer internship (I understand it most likely will not lead to a full time offer) at a major corporation or large bank and I am wondering when they start recruiting? Also, where would I go about finding these opportunities?

I know the major telephone companies headquartered in NJ were interviewing for summer interns in the spring last year (even for 2Ls). This will probably be the same for this year.

Yeah, they start pretty late. I was getting interview requests in like May and June last summer. Try looking on the websites of places you would want to work and like lawstudentjobs.net, but I wouldn't expect much good stuff until at least December.

Google's internship program begins hiring in late December,early January.
