Hi all,
I ended up with a bunch of offers and for various reasons have whittled my choices down to the D.C. offices of OMM and Hogan (I am no longer considering Cleary, which I mentioned in a previous post). I'm having a really tough time deciding, so I figured I'd turn to you all. I'm obviously interested in your votes, but I'm also interested in anything you know about either firm as it pertains to any of the following areas (if you have the information to elaborate beyond "X firm is better than Y firm" that would be wonderful). Any anecdotes are also very much appreciated.
(1) Strength of litigation practice, in particular white collar
(2) Connections to government, i.e. institutional knowledge to help get clerkships, connections to get government employment after working at the firm for a few years, willingness of the firm to take you back after government service
(3) Work-life balance
(4) Anything else you think might be helpful to know.
Thanks so much for your help!

I've heard from a friend that morale is low at Hogan and that some of the younger people are not happy, so I voted O'Melveny. Second hand source (in the area you wish to practice), so take it for what it's worth.

Hmm, interesting. Any idea why morale is low? (And thanks for the comment!)

OMM DC is a great place to work. I know people at both and everyone raves about OMM.

And not about Hogan? With what you know, do you feel it's true that the work-life balance is more difficult to strike at OMM?Anonymous User wrote:OMM DC is a great place to work. I know people at both and everyone raves about OMM.
For anyone else, I'm also wondering why Hogan is viewed more positively than OMM at least as far as Chambers bands for litigation are concerned.
