Re: Jenner & Block
Anyone have any info on work/life balance for Jenner Chi associates compared to some of the other larger firms in the city (Sidley, Mayer, Jones etc.)?

I'm the anon directly above. I absolutely loved the firm, too. Would have turned down the V5 NY offer I had for them. Oh well.Anonymous User wrote:Jenner chi offer call yesterday. Less than a week from the cb. Absolutely love this firm

Actually in this position, albeit not in NY. Was the only firm I actually came out wanting to be at...Anonymous User wrote:I'm the anon directly above. I absolutely loved the firm, too. Still the anom above. For all other firms, I'd say, "Their loss more than mine." Can't say the same about Jenner. For all those with offers: congrats, and I hate you all.Anonymous User wrote:Actually in this position, albeit not in NY. Re: Jenner & Block
Would you actually choose Jenner over a V5 or V10? I am debating this myself.Anonymous User wrote:Still the anom above. For all other firms, I'd say, "Their loss more than mine." Pros:
Jenner = awesome and I love them
Cons:
What if I don't end up liking Jenner, exit options?
It seems like exit options from the V10 would be much better (maybe even to Jenner!). So playing it safe, wouldn't starting the career at the V10 make more sense?

Re: Jenner & Block
Jenner is very litigation-centric and has a relatively small (but growing) NY presence, which is why its Vault ranking is where it is. It's a top-tier litigation firm (just look at the Chambers rankings for various litigation practice areas in IL - it's comparable to K&E and Sidley) and your exit options to government, other firms, etc. will be very good. It's also less leveraged than a lot of other firms and tries very hard to give its young associates early experience (either through lean staffing or pro bono work). If you want to be a litigator and loved the people you met, I don't think that Vault rankings or exit options are a good reason to pick another firm.
