I am a 2L and I have a few interviews with small boutique and mid size firms that do not have NALP information and I was wondering if these questions are appropriate for the 2nd interview at the office.
1. What is the probability of this summer associate position leading to full time employment?
2. What is the typical salary for starting an Associate Attorney at your firm?
3. What type of benefits are offered to an Associate Attorney?
4. Is there an established path to partnership?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Appropriate questions for 2nd interview?
You mean this is a callback and you don't have an offer from this firm? I would not even consider asking any of these questions until you had an offer from them.
Even then, I'd phrase them differently, e.g.:
1. What was your offer rate to 2L SAs last summer?
4. How many SAs do you typically take each year? How many partners do you typically make each year?

Thanks. Makes sense not to rock to boat, especially without an offer in hand.

I wouldn't ask those but you could probably ask...
how many summer associates the firm plans to higher
if summer associates are USUALLY considered for full time offers at the end of the summer
What life is it like to be a 5th year associate (if you are talking to one for example). What kinds of additional responsibilities they may have taken on
