Kirkland SF v. Gibson Dunn SF
For litigation... I liked the people at both equally. My concern is that Kirkland is more prominent for litigation nationally, while Gibson Dunn is more prominent for litigation in SF specifically.

Re: Kirkland SF v. Gibson Dunn SF
Don't know much about GDC SF, but my understanding after meeting with Kirkland SF is that their lit folks a) do mostly IP, and b) are secondary in importance to their PE corporate work, which is blowing up and has made them the most profitable office in the firm. Unless you had a strong culture/compensation preference for Kirkland, I think GDC is the right choice for Bay Area lit.

I have worked at both of these firms. While both are great, go with GDC.

Not to hijack the thread, but I am corporate-focused and have offers at GDC (Palo Alto) and Kirkland (SF). Is anyone able to weigh in on this question for someone in my shoes?Anonymous User wrote:For lit GDC no question.

I am making a choice between the DC offices of Kirkland and Gibson. Same advice or are the SF / DC offices totally different? I liked the people at both but feel like Kirkland will be better for lit and they pay better bonuses. Not sure how much the hours would differ between the two firms.Anonymous User wrote:I have worked at both of these firms. While both are great, go with GDC.
