Major f**k up
Got the time wrong and missed my lone 3lolci screener at a great firm by 20mins. On the advice of my CSO, I called the recruiting director and left her a voicemail within half an hour of when I should have been there. I followed up with an email. I also emailed the associate interviewer. All three messages featured profuse apologies. In addition, I begged the recruiting director for a redo. No reply from anyone so far.
Anything else I should do (beside killing myself)? So so so fucked.

People don't get callbacks because their nail polish is chipped. I doubt you have a future with this firm.Anonymous User wrote:For real. What else is there to do?Anonymous User wrote:Forget about it and move on

+1. Time spent forgetting about this and applying elsewhere is time better spent. Learn from your mistakes and keep at it.Anonymous User wrote:Forget about it and move on

OP, same thing happened to me today. Wrote the time down wrong, got a call from OCS halfway through-WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU-met the interviewer in shorts and a t-shirt as she was leaving to catch her plane. She still asked which office I was applying for (?), but even after apologizing profusely in person and later by email, I'm not holding out any hope. It really sucks. I felt shitty. But, you just have to try and forget about it.

Yeah in retrospect I shouldn't have sent those emails. They probably got forwarded to a couple of people who are laughing their asses off right now. "And then he said he was hopped for another chance! Hahahahahahah!!!!". FML.

Re: Major fuck up
I got a callback, summer offer, and permanent offer from a firm whose screener I missed through my own screwup (OCS moved it from its original time and I didn't know they could do that). I called OCS and they scheduled me another one. I went into the second one profusely apologizing and they basically cut me off and said they'd rather hear about me as a candidate than hear my apologies, and the interview went great from there. You've probably done all you can do, but you just never know - it probably depends on the individuals you're dealing with.

This doesn't sound like your screwup...Anonymous User wrote:I got a callback, summer offer, and permanent offer from a firm whose screener I missed through my own screwup (OCS moved it from its original time and I didn't know they could do that). Re: Major fuck up
I was supposed to know that the time wasn't final until the night before (or something). It was definitely in our materials, as a not-thrilled OCS pointed out to me. Even if you feel (as I do!) that this is a weird way to do things, it was still effectively my screwup to my interviewers, because all they saw was a schedule with me at a certain time and me not appearing at that time.hichvichwoh wrote:This doesn't sound like your screwup...Anonymous User wrote:I got a callback, summer offer, and permanent offer from a firm whose screener I missed through my own screwup (OCS moved it from its original time and I didn't know they could do that). Re: Major fuck up
not auto-ding like some posters are saying. i double scheduled a callback with a screener by accident, cancelled the screener, got bitched out by CDO, apologized to screener (cdo required me to write this bs letter to them too) and thought that was it. got a phone call from the firm 3 days later which turned out to be basically a phone interview - was completely unprepared and said some dumbass things ("im interested in xyz" "oh... we actually don't do that") but i was super apologetic about cancelling the first interview. in the end, got a callback and offer - i think if you really apologize to them for wasting their time, if everything else is good, its not auto-ding.

Got an offer at a firm after showing up for a callback on the wrong day. There is hope.
