When screener says you'd be "great fit" Forum

When I have received phone calls from the partners (or sometimes associates) who I interviewed with during OCI screeners, sometimes they tell me they think I'd be a "great fit" at their firm. Other interviewers have simply said during these calls that they enjoyed speaking with me and would like me to speak with some other attorneys in the firm.

Do you think the difference means anything? In other words, when a partner (let's disregard associate screeners for right now) says s/he thinks I'd be a "great fit," does that mean s/he would be willing to go to bat for you, that you would get his or her vote if you were doing a callback interview with that person in terms of getting an offer? Or do you think it's just something people say?

It's just something people say. It basically means that if they had an infinite number of CB slots, no other students screening, and could unilaterally make all decisions about extending CBs, they would be more likely than not to extend you one.

Regardless of whether you are told you would be a great fit, no firm would extend a callback if there was an indication during the screener that you wouldn't be a great fit.

After V18 you have to add 10 seconds to each number because they are inferior minds and therefore speak slower.
