If a firm doesn't respond to me after I've emailed them a cover letter, resume, etc., is it OK to call them? How long should I wait between emailing and calling? What do I say in the phone call?
I seem not to be getting many responses from firms that I'm emailing, even when I seem to be a pretty good fit gpa-wise and school-wise.
Thanks in advance.

Most firms are right in the middle of OCI right now, so I'm not sure how receptive they would be. As to firms that do not interview at your school, I suppose you can give it a shot.
I'd say 2 weeks between e-mail and phone call.

Call within a week. No worries there. You need to be active. Calling makes the firm think of you more than just a "mass mailer" and someone who is actually serious.

If you call now, just know that the call will probably go straight to voice mail. I called a bunch of firms, and it did nothing for me (accept hasten a few rejections).

This. I called 15 firms that I was interested in. Only one person actually answered and she just sounded annoyed.Anonymous User wrote:If you call now, just know that the call will probably go straight to voice mail.
