+1. All three of my dings thus far have been email (not a humblebrag, just haven't heard anything at all from many). Should I stop frantically checking my actual mailbox?

I've gotten two snail mail dings from OTIP firms in the past week or so. Just give it time.

Does everyone get a Mayer Brown reception invite, or is that a pre-CB thing?

I got an invite also and was wondering the same thing... Seemed like my interviewer at least told the interviewee before me about it as well.

were you the one talking shit about the inteviewer earlier, about how she only wanted to recruit for her home market? I interviewed with her and didn't think she was that bad, clearly she was looking for some people for MN.

No, I was not. I actually found that extraordinarily unprofessional. I really enjoyed speaking with her.

Can someone who has done callbacks and submitted reimbursement forms explain that process a tiny bit?

Example: Tomorrow I have a callback in NY. I'm taking an early flight, for my "breakfast" will they reimburse my skinny vanilla latte and blueberry muffin from starbucks? If I'm running late will they reimburse my "lunch" from some random airport place like Hudson news, not an actual restaurant?

Meals are reimbursable, regardless of where they are from. Make sure the price is reasonable (roughly, $10 for breakfast, $20 for lunch, $40 for dinner), and save the receipt. The person who deals with reimbursements most likely isn't an attorney, so you have nothing to worry about unless you do something so outrageous that s/he feels the need to bother someone on the hiring committee.

I always did a latte and scone from Starbucks for callback breakfasts; it's definitely fine.

More callback firms:

Mayer Brown (Charlotte)
Shipman & Goodwin (Hartford)
Brown Law

Dings from Linklaters & mcguirewoods (Richmond, via snail mail)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
