Re: grades at NYU
OCI interviewers do not like to see any grade from NYU above an A-. Firms hate gunners and students who work hard.

My guess is "What is the highest GPA cutoff of the firms that attend NYU's OCI?" That's a guess though.kaiser wrote:I don't understand what you are trying to ask

Depends on whether you are wearing Brooks Brothers or JOS a BANK at EIW. Adjust .1 GPA point up or down respectively.

Re: grades at NYU
If this is the question, Wachtell's grade cutoff is around a 3.7 (i.e., they will only very, very rarely give a CB to anyone under a 3.7, not that they will give a CB to anything close to everyone over 3.7).zanda wrote:My guess is "What is the highest GPA cutoff of the firms that attend NYU's OCI?" Is it around that for CSM/S&C too? Are those pretty much only LR types?

Re: grades at NYU
CSM has been rumored to go pretty deep into the class at least for call backs. S&C I'd guess is around 3.6 rather than 3.7. LR grade on is around high 3.8x so no it's not only LR people.Anonymous User wrote:Is it around that for CSM/S&C too? Are those pretty much only LR types?

Re: grades at NYU
No and no. S&C calls back (and offers) almost everyone above 3.6. Cravath is less predictable (somewhat less grades-driven than S&C), but that's a fairly good marker for Cravath CBs, too.Anonymous User wrote:Is it around that for CSM/S&C too? Are those pretty much only LR types?
LR grade-on is high 3.8s to 3.9 (top 15 students, plus maybe a couple more if some top students don't do the writing competition). Write-ons can be anywhere; I know one who had barely a 3.0 after 1L.
