ask yourself if those 6 people are representative of our class as a whole, or if they're the upper echelons? I can think of 6 people to ask all of whom i wouldn't doubt have 5+ callbacksAnonymous User wrote: Well I've only asked around 6 people but out of them 5 all have 4+ CBs.

Not to rub salt in the wound, but this looks, based on admittedly limited data, worse than for c/o 2013.

Not LR. Seriously, I believe OCI is more about interviewing skills than grades. Grades, unless you have a sub 3.4 or a 3.9+ just give you a little boost at most firms.Anonymous User wrote:Journal?Anonymous User wrote:Well GPA wise, 4 of those people are around median.Anonymous User wrote:ask yourself if those 6 people are representative of our class as a whole, or if they're the upper echelons? The conversion rate of CB:offer might end up better... but probably not.Lincoln wrote:Not to rub salt in the wound, but this looks, based on admittedly limited data, worse than for c/o 2013.

Sure. All you need is one offer, so having 4 CBs or 10 CBs doesn't really matter. But the comparison still has some value.Anonymous User wrote:The conversion rate of CB:offer might end up better... but probably not.Lincoln wrote:Not to rub salt in the wound, but this looks, based on admittedly limited data, worse than for c/o 2013.

White and Case gave out at least one CB from just a resume/transcript drop without a screener at AJF.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone?Anonymous User wrote:Did anyone actually succeeded in getting a CB out of merely handing in resume at hospitality suite, or to one of the interviewers, or from doing walk-in interviews?

I know Shearman gave at least one CB to someone who dropped a resume in the hospitality suite. The person was given a screener later in the day because of the resume drop.

think there's any chance that some of these firms might send out a second wave of callbacks this week?

No. Not for the firms that have already given out CBs. NYC firms don't work like that, we are all just rejected now according to all the 3Ls. Never heard of a firm giving out CBs and then 5 days later giving out CBs again.Anonymous User wrote:think there's any chance that some of these firms might send out a second wave of callbacks this week?

Not everyone should be freaking out just yet. If the list we've compiled is taken to be 100% accurate then we should still be waiting on at least:
Bressler
Brown Rudnick
Bryan Cave
Epstein Becker
Morgan Lewis
Reed Smith
Wilson Sonsini

As well as Hughes Hubbard, and it looks like MoFo NYC as well (although not sure if anybody has gotten CBs from here yet).

I know of a 3L who got a CB a month later, then an offer a month after that. It doesn't happen often, but it happens.Anonymous User wrote:No. Not for the firms that have already given out CBs. What about firms that already sent out email dings? If you haven't heard back from them yet, are you still in the running?

Re: Cornell AJF Thread
I am a 3L who didn't get a first round callback at the firm I eventually ended up at. In fact, I didn't get the CB until mid september and didn't get my offer until late september. Didn't accept the offer until mid October. This is a NY firm.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
