DLA > unemployment. But you will still be, justifiably, ridiculed.

I've got a more relevant question than the one you posted OP.

What is an attractive woman's opinion of a man who works at a law firm paying 160K to first year employees ITE? The answer to that question is a lot more important than the answer to yours.

Haymarket, sometimes your comments remind me so much of Sheldon Cooper. I have Sheldon Cooper's voice in my head saying that... (except he would have said "forget")

They're better in some cities than others. They get more flack from law students than they deserve.

This is 99% old xoxo second-hand stuff, but the gist is that they have a ton of offices in crappy cities, they're extremely leveraged, which makes them seem more like a law-factory than a training environment, and their work tends to be on the lower-end of BigLaw work.

"Enjoy dla piper" came from the time where everyone got BigLaw, and so someone having to settle for dla piper from a T14 school was basically the mark of sucking at life.

The problem isn't that they have a ton of offices in "crappy cities" (whatever those are), the problem is that they are a firm without a home market or any city where they are anywhere close to the "best." They are basically second-rate everywhere. The only office that strikes me as pretty good is the San Diego office. It is what used to be Gray Cary, one of the old-line San Diego-based firms.

No, it came from their marketing materials at the time.

You're wrong. Their Kazakh office is first rate it's market. They do big-borat-law.

Gotcha. Don't go far back enough, so I just got it from the xo meme. But that just makes it funnier .

I don't know. I guess? Would totally take a partner job there. 10x better than being an 8th year associate at S&C with zero partnership prospects despite the fact that they've lead you on for 8 years.
